The indecision between the abyss and the shadow

First snow on the way

The sights nobody knows about

The bright shining perspectives of swimming

A stack of umbrellas

Phantom duck

The door and the reflection of the photographer

Old times and new plans

The licence to live

Many thanks for the detailed comment, Andre!

You gave me another point of view with your thoughts, and now I am thinbking in this direction too. Actually I only had the idea of that blossom as a kind of messenger of the coming spring/summer, and the complicated background only as a dark background on which the blossom gets more contrast. But your thoughts about the background as a functional part of the image are very interesting - especially the relation of it to the foreground in a "multiplicative" sense! Very interesting!

Many thanks again and have a nice day!

Nick

I like your selective focus on the buds, and your dof showing the other similar ones out of focus in the background, Nick. Sort of what Andre said! Well done!
Dave.

Hi Nick,
On first viewing this image, I thought that the background might be a little too cluttered and busy for the image. But having viewe it again and thought a second time, it seems to be growing on me. I'm now seeing the background as a multiple of the in focus bloom in the foreground. I'm not sure if that makes any sense? Anyway, somehow the image works for me because I see a couple of many pointed out in the crowd.
As the title says, the two in focused parts are a preview of what is to come.
Andre
