About I was walking though a path in the woods in our neighborhood and saw this dog loo in a neighbor's back yard. I have no idea if their pet has been trained to clean up after itself but I felt it was noteworthy regardless.

Have a productive and safe trip!

A doghouse indeed....all I could think of was how difficult it would be for the dog to use it....LOL!!!

Be awful smelly too....and how on earth do you clean it??? hahaha....this is gonna keep me chuckling for weeks!

I'm off overseas in a day or two, to New Zealand....for some cold climate photography...big change from my tropical stuff, so I'll no doubt have a lot to catch up on when I come home! Take care Jan, and keep on shooting!
Cheers.........Mel

Mel -- It is funny how words have different connotations based on culture and geography. My first reaction was that "loo" meant the same thing you assumed. But I would be the exception here in the US. A doghouse! Who knew?

Thanks, Mel. My research shows that this is an insulated dog house and they must have picked "dogloo" as a name to sound like "igloo". Apparently the manufacturer, being a North American company, did not see the possible double meaning of the word "loo". But my neighbor sure saw the double meaning. Either that or his bull terrier is very fastidious! :)

I think it is just an insulated dog house, Roger.
Weird name, though.

Jan, you are the master at finding the weirdest objects to photograph. My hat is off to you, sir!

I just can't imagine any dog squatting anywhere near this, although I haven't been to the site to see an explanation of how it works...maybe I should....then again.............

Congrats on being on the front page too, I didn't see that one, unfortunately. Good luck with finding more wonderful objects to keep us all guessing.
Thanks also for your comments on my photos, much appreciated.

Cheers
Mel

AJ -- I looked up the product (dogloo) on the Internet in order to answer your question. They come in what appears to be small, medium, large and extra-large. It appears that one size does NOT fit all.

The paper roll gives all-important scale - which raises the question: do these come in different sizes, or is a great dane (for example) expected to "lift the lid"?

Doyle -- Ah! I knew someone (read: "DOYLE") would ask if this was on the up and up.
Here is my "official response":
1. I did not put the TP on the Dog Loo.
2. My neighbor's bull terrier cannot reach that high.
3. Ergo: my neighbor must have put it there for a laugh.
4. I will not resign.

--Regards, Jan
