Thanks for your critique Joe. I agree that the setting would have been better at a park or at the beach but we did late in the afternoon after doing the pinup shoot so we just drove it down to a local shopping center. I tried to pick a spot that wouldn't have too much background, and this was the best I could do for the situation. I am working on doing a shoot with a 1934 ford. If that happens, I will definitely shoot that at a park, the beach or along a deserted road. Some place where there will not be alot of background interference and it should look more like an old time photo.
Clay this image has a lot of potential and I find the project interesting. Your models are fantastic, I like the clothes and hair-dos, the truck is a very appropriate prop and I like the poses. It looks to me that you need a bit more light on their faces and the focus on their faces seems a little soft. I'm not sure cropping off their feet works but I could be wrong on that. The background behind the truck is a problem, it looks too new and modern. I usually don't suggest this because I like colour and I think back and white is over used, specially on the site, but since these are "retro girls" it might work in black and white or sepia. Or even better somehow duplicate that weak faded colour of the early colour photography. Technically, the image does have current, modern look to it. Hope this helps.
