About A photo from a few years back. This was the scene not far from my home.
Here, i stopped to shoot this scene on a foggy frosty morning after driving the kids to school...

Shorly after this "final" image, the land was sold, subdivided and now there are huge houses on handkerchief sized squares of land "uglifying" what was once a serene and charming place.

I also have photos of work in progress as the new estate was being built.

I understand that people need somewhere to live, but this is a rural area with much wildlife and natural bushland. The new estate killed all that and looks disgusting with its "My house is bigger than yours", attitude screaming... It is unbalanced... crazy houses squeezed too tightly together. It is..... a mess!!!

I step down from my soapbox now...

Totally natural early morning light.
Hand held. Have forgotten exposure time and F stop.

Well at least you can still look back on your photos and remember this... I hope I Hope I hope they don't decide to start building on all this open land next to me... it is very nice to have openness. It's why I left the city in the first place.

Hugs!

Thanks David!

Please don't think I am a dummy in English. I understand now... like flagging an e-mail... lol... :) I was schooled entirely in Australia and always received between 98-100% in English. I am actually a writer, which is why I felt embarrassed about not understanding the term "flagged"... well, that and also being Hungarian. Sometimes I feel torn between the two languages, but my Hungarian is hopeless compared with my English. I have not heard "flagged" used in this context before... Thank you for clarifying :)Always open to learning!

Now I shall stop the prattle, and get to your comments re the soap box :) I am SO pleased you feel as I do on these environmental issues, and thank you for your kind supportive words regarding my "protest" through photographic documentation... :) I shall continue with it too... hehehe...

All the VERY best to you, David!
Aniko :)

Hi Aniko, no need to be embarrassed, the english language can play tricks on us....by 'flag' I mean 'draw attention to', or 'mark', or 'remind me to come back to this'......the reason is that I, also, have a tendency to climb on to my soap box when it comes to environmental issues....I struggle to understand the destruction of lovely places in the name of progress, acres of 'mansions' side by side as far as the eye can see.....we all seem to need so much, it's a big subject and once we get going there is no stopping us!!....you have done well to draw attention these issues through your photography. kind regards, david.

OK!

Sorry David, I don't know what you mean by "flag"... you forget I am Hungarian and although I can and do understand and write far better in "English", having lived in Australia most of my life, I don't understand every term... Makes me feel kinda embarrassed!

(*"Flag" the issue you raise...* is very poetic... :))

Look forward to your returning and explaining what you mean. Thanks.

Best Wishes to you,
Aniko :)

My pleasure Stan!

I was really hoping to capture some intereting autumn scenes with the European trees and Japanese Maple trees showing their colours mixed in amongst our native evergreen trees, but sadly, autumn has no real colour this year.
The weather is quite cold, but not cold enough to have caused the leaves to colour so nicely. And even in this cold weather, twice now in 2 days, within the small town I live in on the mountain, we are still having grass fires, owing to the long drought this entire country is experiencing. We had three fire trucks out within minutes of where I live, only a few hours ago. Fires are contained thankfully.
It is a strange and wonderous country. I have already some landscape images posted here... I am not sure if you have seen them. They are, naturally under the category of landscapes :) If you care to view what I have so far, they are easy to locate.
My best landscapes are on slide transparency film and my scanner does not "like" slides or negatives... that is the reason I have few landscape images posted to date.

Anyway, I ramble on too much! :) :) :) Oooops... hehehe....
Aniko :)

Thank you Dear Stan!

Australia is a vast continent and I do not travel much.
I live in its smallest state and yet England quite comfortably could "fit inside it"...
So I would be more than happy to post more landscapes from "my" little pocket of Australia!

Best Wishes to you Stan,
Aniko :)

Here is documentation of the "after" of the subdivision of the little farm and acres upon acres of natural bushland... the making of the estate... merely one photo I made of this "progress", and I am tempted to post more... The finale will be of the housing estate itself;, though by now, some plants have grown and partially cover the initial horror... yet, in my mind, it is still a disgrace and as ugly as ever!

Darn.... I don't seem to be able to get off my soap box on these environmental issues!!! Ah well, at leasy I am "real" and if freedom of speech is truly free, then I speak out!
Aniko :)

Thank you my Dear Niclole!

I will post images at a later time of the way this peaceful place looks now.

If you wish to see a little documentation of the "transformative" work in progress, I have one image posted here...though I have several more, just not onsite. If you look at the image, you will not recognize it as the same place as the one I was fortunate enough to capture ... BEFORE...

Yes, my dear Aniko. I see the same thing happening here in our beautiful valley. Lovely rural areas constantly being destroyed, and small farms put out of business. Lovely image.

True Dear Srna!

Yes, people do find me to be relatively "crazy".... lol... But not you, my friend. I know you understand how I feel, my passion for such cruel injustices and so on...human greed rather than actual need. Each trying to outdo the other! Why???

The image itself is not brilliant, but it is a statement and a tribute to the past wonders of nature, and to all the dear native creatures that was lost, as was their home... the bush...

Thank you my Friend...
Hugs to you,
Aniko :)

Beautiful capture Aniko, strong and totally true about !!!
And than you tell me that others find you crazy !!!
You are so normal, there are so many people who have lost everything what is celled normal !!!
And that makes me so angry and so sad in the same time !!!
Anyway, your image is a great presentation of natures's beaty where you could sometimes run away and feel warm and relaxed, but ...
Well done my dear

Hugs

Srna
