About
We had quite a few of these plants growing in our garden, the gardener didn't know thier names, but said people called them African Flamingos, because of their shape. I have put a web site below where you can see the whole flower, you will scroll down until you see a pink and white flower that hangs over. The real data is below.
Epiphyllum oxypetalum Family: Cactaceae Belle de Nuit, Lady of the Night, Queen of the Night, Night blooming Cereus, Dutchman's Pipe
This special cactus grows in tropical rainforests and has large wide meaty leaves. The flower is huge, white, and nocturnal. Blooms at night hours, hence the name. One of the most exotic indoor plants. The plant is common around Veracruz, Mexico, a coastal area that borders the Gulf of Mexico. In this area, the weather is extremely humid, and the temperatures vary quite broadly, from 60 to 120 F, with a rainy season that lasts from May to October.
I love all your recent floral work especially the magnolia but this one is so beautiful with it's delicate pastel tones and superb dof. Well done to you sweet Alison.......Cheers,,,,,,,,Ray
Qué bello macro!!! Conozco estos cactus, las he visto como "epicactus" o "cactus- orquídea", sólo florecen de noche y despliegan no sólo su belleza sino su aroma incomparable! Felicitaciones Alison, una toma distinta!
Very nice shot indeed dear Alison, The tones, they are touching, they are so tender, I like it. But, about the focus, as long as there are so much layers, it is a complicated one for sure, but I think it is unclear on the front side. But it left a great effect in the end of the leaves. Very well done, Mohammad
