You are correct Onie, the tail is extremely long on these birds so there is no way I could have done a close-up and included it all in the shot. Apart from that it’s not my style…..my mantra is…. Get close then get closer still.
Glad you like it Onie, birds are not really my subject but you know me and my liking for colour!!!!
Talk to you soon dear lady! :)))

:))) If I remember correctly, the tails are very long on these parrots... I would think that maybe, it would be hard to get the whole bird as a close up Meg...:)))
The colours are amazing in their clarity and hue... Lovely detail again dear Meg...:)))
Extra nice visual...:)))

No John the chain was not attached to the bird, if it had been I too would have been worried!
I agree with your points about the tail and the bright oblong... Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it very much. :)

I really like the way the colours stand out against the background. Would be nice to have all the tail feathers in the image. But what worries me more is the chain - I sincerely hope it is not attached to the bird, but it is so prominent in the image that it does raise the question. I would also suggest toning down that bright oblong at top left as it distracts the eyes away from the main subject.
