Excellent placement BUT the most strong thing here is the focus, really you target to the duck perfectly!!! And also the strong contrast with the background helps a lot on that, very good photo...

A great one! The perfectly depicted bird in the center of very nice tonalituies of blue for the water and grey for the land, both of which rather give the impression of some artificially made scenery where the model stood so photogenically! And since birds do not seem to care about their photogenity but rather do as they please, it must have been Dave's patience until the right moment for shooting came!

Hi Dave,
These common Mallards are so often over-looked. (mainly because their flashy mates get all the attention) They are really quite beautiful birds with that violet flash of feathers on their wings.

Beautiful colour and detail on the bird Dave. The background is also very nice. my one critique is the foreground which is a bit busy and could be cropped closer to the birds feet (halfway between feet and bottom of the picture). Lovely image nonetheless!
