Excellent capture Art, great composition with the bird located diagonally and the some branches and leaves in front. Excellent detail and light. You got the brilliant orange of the Baltimore Oriole. Very well done my friend. All the best, Joe

Excellent shot Arthur. Dave and Bill are right. This is a Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula). They migrate to Central and South America. Since they used to visit my backyard (in Costa Rica) from early September to early May, this is one of the first birds that I learned how to identify. Excellent details. Congrats. Yamil

It is a male Baltimoe Oriole Art. This is a first rate capture of my faviorte bird. I put slices of oranges in the tree outside my front window and they come to eat about 20 times a day. I just took some shots yesterday( not as good as this) and I also caught the male and female Grosebeck..I'll post them in a day or two. Very well done Art....7+ Bill

Hi Art,
Dave is right on both counts. It's a Baltimore Oriole and they are usually very skittish. Congratulations! Well done.

Looks to me like a male Baltimore Oriole, Art, and a very fine shot of it. We see them here occasionally, but they sure don't exhibit the tame characteristics you describe! Dave.
