great capture Joe...I might have to move to Canada just to get one of these guys...several months ago I saw a 'pecker' on a Palm Tree near our pool....the son-of-a-gun would not let me take his photo...he just kept going around the tree, not letting me catch up with him long enough to take it....I even left and came back from a different direction...but the dance just continued from where we had left off...never did get a photo of that bird.... cheers

Great shot!!! You are so lucky to have such gorgeous birds to shoot so easily:) Nice clarity and lighting. I like the difference in texture between the tree, the woodpecker's feathers and the lovely smooth sky..a very pleasant photo to view

Ohhhh looks like this guy has still has some growing into those eyes -lol!!!
Great detail with the beak and the tree bark as well... very good exposure, clarity,
