Roberta, A nice concept and the grain is IMHO quite acceptable in this instance.
I would prefer that the face was much lighter and this could be achieved in an editor.
I took the liberty of making some tonal change which is how I would like to view this imaage.

lovely shot. the tones and grain are just about perfect. i admit, my first thought was that i would like to see more detail in the eyes, but the more i look at it, with the flash of light there, the more mesmerizing they become. i really love this photo.
