About
This is it. Slack water on the high tide. Most often this is done at night because the water is much calmer. The drydock was flooded over an eight hour period, the gate (caisson) has been floated out of the way, now its the Dockmaster's show. Very slowly the ship is pulled into the dock. Great care is taken to keep her in the right position to rest precisely on the blocks when the water is pumped out. I made this series of exposures with the camera on a tripod and using the self-timer to activate the shutter. Metered manually. (More to follow)
