I know exactly what youīre talking about, Andre:) My parentsīlast dog, also a terrier, was the overdog although being a mouthful for Henry. Now Henry is the alphadog, but a good one that takes care of the new terrier and donīt harm him while playing. Okay Henry is also a gentle dog, but he does get dominant with larger breeds of maledogs. The small ones that sometimes try to bite him being quite aggressive, he just ignores or turns away his head when they jump on him. My parents used to breed newfoundlands, and it was so interesting watching the pack of dogs and the way they organized themselves. When the leading femaledog died, we didnīt think that her weak sister would take over, but she did being the eldest. Thanks for commenting, and I do hope that some day youīll get a bouvier again:-)

Very nice Annemette, Isn't it funny how even with the size difference, dogs only seem to go by age for deciding who is the dominant one? My mother used to have a little Terrier that figured he was the boss of the other two dogs in the family, even though he was by far the smallest. For years, my 120lb Bouvier let little Sammy lead him around. My Bouvier could have eaten him with one bite if he wanted to, but he always let Sammy be the boss:) Other dogs had to watch out! Andre

Well, if Alfi turns up missing I'd check between Henry's teeth for white fur.

very funny shot and very well captured mood. the colours and tones are also beautifully balanced, specially if you consider the difficult circumstances snow always presents

no no he wouldnīt do that - not eat him either, but he does cover the little Alfiīs head and body with his paws when encouraging him to play- what an encouragement;-)
