thank you so much (but to be honest I actually painted the sky white and dialed down the opacity in PS to make the difference between the sky and mountains more stark) but thank you for the idea becaue I do have a habit of blowing the sky out when I don't intend to :)

a nice dramatic image of mountains and clouds and cloud shadows. I like the mountain off center. you may try practicing setting your exposure for the sky and then shooting, or taking exposure readings of the sky and then of the land and then hit the average of the two
