Please let me know if I can assist you further. I am sure that the file size you are trying to load is the culprit in why you are unable to load a larger size. As I said, when you save as a jpg in your photo editing program, there is usually a "quality" setting that you can adjust to get below Usefilm's 400 kb limit. I usually have to go to a 10 or 11 out of a max of 12 (in Photoshop) in order to stay below the limit.
There are some FAQs on Usefilm that will also explain this to you.

This looks like a wonderful job, however, I am disappointed you've loaded such a small photograph. You are allowed to load photos up to 850 X 850 pixels. When sizing and saving for UF, select a quality level just below 400 and you'll be able to post larger formats.
