About Looking for pleiades again. Clouds over the sea.
Rising bfore dawn in winter, according to some of the varied and fragmented accounts of maori cosmology, it heralds the new year.
I waited in the cold for about an hhour for the clouds to the west to disperse, by 6:22 I only had time for one shot!
The clouds broke, I thought I saw it, I snapped... but this is Orion.
Not the spectacle I was hoping for but at least I know where to look tomorrow in the dawn light (not there) if I wake absurdly early again.
The old term for this first rise of the stars time in the sky was the "cosmic rising", how cool is that? But this aint one.

Dang Rog I googled that to find out who lz is ( I think I should know)and the only thing that comes up is your quote on my page!
Does that mean you are the first person in the world cybernetically speaking to ever utter these words?

Okay Ian, you have been busy of late and so I can understand it when you make a mistake. And since you are such a creative artist, I will ignore most all of those mistakes. This one however, is SOOO egrigious I can not let it slide.

You got ORION upside down!

Oh yeah, Kiwi view....javascript:AddSmileyIcon('')

You would be amazed at how WRONG this looks to me!
On the other hand I have never seen the Southern Cross
so what do I know.

Cheers - JB
