Excellent photo, honestly not to thrill with the color of the trees, but love the castle reflection and the sky clouds seems like a dream! Cograts, Peter!!!! Cheers, Harry

Ohhh! I like this composition very much! Next the reflection - absolutely mirror-like! And finally the infrared effect which gives the shot an eerie atmosphere - which here goes well with the idea of castle. Bravo!

Thanks ! The IR modification consists in removing the hot mirror sitting in front of the CCD, that blocks out infrared light.. and a IR filter was put in place (just like you screw on a filter on a lens) .. so it's now a dedicated infrared camera .. this way, i can use any lens i want, and use any aperture/shutterspeed possible ..
Peter

I'm not a fan of most Infrared shots but this is astounding. Well done, Peter. So how do you modify a 300D for Infrared? Is that just an attachment? I've not heard of actually modifying a camera. I assumed IR was just a filter?
Best wishes, Dave

That is optional, the conversion can be IR+visible (removal of hot mirror) or IR-only (replacement of hot mirror by IR filter). I chose for IR-only .. and yes, there are still colours in the original shot, which were brown .. i used channel mixer to swap colours .. Peter

Beautifully composed scene Peter with great reflections and tones. Was this origionally a colour shot?Once modified for IR is it possible to use the camera for conventional photography and can it produce both colour and black and white IR photos? Best wishes, Tony
