Thank you Sergio! You use the same process as I use for IR photos and the same lens...I love the 50mm 1.8.

And yes, the "hot spot" with the 18-55 is VERY bad...

Thanks again - by the way, your english is MUCH better than my Spanish!

Hi Adam!
I bought the infrared filter Hoya R-72 one year ago, but this moment only it had the lens of the kit, 18 - 55, and my surprise was big when it shoots my first photos. A few strange points in the center of the photo!! " hot spot ". I nothing of this knew. In some forums in the web I knew mas it brings over of the best lenses for Infrared and 50mm f1.8 is of the best in the Canon. So I obtained it to the time later and it has given me VERY good results. Usually the adjustments are 4 second in F/8. But sometimes I need more seconds.
What I do is to use the WB, I take a photo to something "green", fit the WB in "custom" and the photos go out without the characteristic "red color" of the infrared one. I shoot the photos in RAW to work in Photoshop CS later.
The work in PS Cs is:
- Adjustments > Auto Levels
- Channel Mixer:
- Output Channel Red: Red 0. Green 0. Blue 100.
- Outpu Channel Blue: Red 100. Green 0. Blue 0.
- Hue/Saturation: Yellow -100.
By the way...I attach one of this original photography, from RAW, ready for work at PS CS...

Thanks for your commnent my friend, take care.

ps: excuse my bad english!

Sergio - this is gorgeous!

EXCELLENT composition...we are using almost the same camera and the same lens...love my little 50mm.

Do you find that you get a hotspot with the 18-55mm lens?

Your IR shots are so crisp and clear - I just bought my IR filter, so I'm trying different things out. What F-stop do you shoot your IR shots at?
