About The same rock as on "Summerday by the rock" but this time a closer zoom and a shallower DoF for a better separation of the flowers from the background.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, Wayne! And much more for the advice! At that time some years ago I didn't know about the rule of thirds which I now consider often helpful but still not really a must. These "flowery" images do represent, however, my very naive period in which I was too overwhelmed by what I saw in the view finder and didn't really take much time to think about composition.

Best wishes and thanks again,

Nick

You are getting better at these Nick!
Better seperation and point of view.
The rock adds interest to the background even though it is subtly (and intentionally) out of focus. DOF is spot on!
My only advice would be to move to the right just a hair and position the flowers a little more toward the left side of the image, keeping the same background. This will help your composition. One form of composition is called the rule of thirds. Where you position a point of interest at the intersection of two lines one horizontal at one third of the height of the image and a vertical at one third the width. You accomplished this well on your image "glow of artificial and natural light" The mountain peak is at the intersection of those two lines.
Well done my friend and keep up the good work!

I like the colour and sharpness of the subject flowers here, Nick!
Dave.
