greetings sally,.thank you for looking in & what a great critique & owe you an explination,. indeed the two shots were only minutes apart, surprised me also as i usually only give them a gentle tweak in manual levels, but for these two i put them through auto levels,. have attached original,. as you can see, was already cropped, as you say, maybe not enough,. much regards art,.

That's an amazing range of colours to capture in one sunset - you must have timed it just right!
I like the way you've silhouetted the decorative lampost in the foreground and set it off to one side of the frame.
I think the bottom is a bit dark and doesn't add much pictorially to the photo - I'd be tempted to crop it a little - so that it doesn't take away from that beautifully coloured mid section.
