Oops, and opps again! I am so sorry, Alix! I was thinking about a discussion that I have with Wayne, while I was looking to your image, and somehow I mixed it up (and messed it up! :-D)
It was about photography with or without skill, and I think that this image is a very good example against the "all too easy" approach of many people nowadays, that think that knowledge of the basics is no more necessary, as we can see on many "artistic" images here. ;-)
Excuse me please for the salad in my head!
Have a nice Sunday,
Nick

Indeed a photo of the day for its perfection of perpective and also of putting something special into the right place of that perspoective!
The excellent lighting makes the two main "layers" of perspective, the sand and the clouds, look very much like clear limiting bounds, and the space inbetween receives this way a very strong depth, that gets further enhanced by the very sharp focus.
Even without the running person it would be a PoD for me, but the presence of that person, being exposed at exactly the right time, gives yet another strong point to the image: A location in the above mentioned space, that has something very special - much like a singularity, because it is kept very simple as a dark silhouette on a much more highlighted background.
You see what I mean, Wayne? How to achieve all this without really dealing with aperture and DoF? Without that impressive DoF under that lighting (that is directly connected to your rather narrow aperture) the DoF would be limited, the perpective would be much weaker, and that singular point wouldn't be as strong as it is now.
Such a great image! Keep it up!
Nick
