Hey Kes,
I shoot in Color as it is so easy to convert when applicable. Some images seem to have the strong compositional context as well as the tonal values but lacking in color. I never used to think much in terms of B/W but it is fun to experiment. Black and White helps to access the foundation of a image.

Dramatic changes in the clouds are apparent as the eye follows the dock; alternatively back to the water highlights, to the foreground water tones and around to the dock againg. Well done composition Tim!
