The Citroen LOGO was thought to represent the double helical gear Citroen invented. The company had a reputation for approaching automotive design in a unique and innovative way. In 1934 Citroen introduced the 'Traction Avant' car with revolutionary Unitary Body (no chassis), Independant Suspension and Front Wheel Drive, components that were followed 30 years later with the MINI and almost EVERY current manufacturer. The GODDESS series introduced in 1955 was also revolutionary with its SELF LEVELLING suspension for different road surfaces, power steering, steering and suspension and was the first European car with Disc Brakes.
