About	What's all the fuss about? So this place (University of Illinois) was founded in 1867. In world terms that is VERY young. In US terms it is "OK" oldE. My middle son is now enrolled at this place (not this building, but this campus) and the University of Illinois is one of the oldest state universities in Illinois. What is the oldest? Wellllllllllllll.... the oldest was founded in 1859 (before the Civil War) and is the place where I earned my colors. Illinois State University. 1859. 1867.... bah!!! Kid's stuff.
