great shot, many stricks at the same image and I'm very impresed about the time you have shot that, 4 minutes plus, without any kind of red spots....oh my...I must try so night shots right now! :-D It's amazing how the sky does not overexposed under some many time...ok ISO100 but some times I miss ISO50 that 1D serie have....I miss that a lot! Excellent shot Dave. Have a great week dear friend!

Thank you, Shirley... what was amazing is that this was primarily one strike. There may have been a smaller bolt mixed in there but when this multiple branch bolt struck, I closed the shutter and the finished photo was this.
Best wishes, Dave

Gracias, Alicia. Parece las raíces de un árbol, no él. Cuál era asombroso es que éste era sobre todo un perno del relámpago, no un manojo entero de huelgas durante la exposición.
Recuerdos, Dave

Thanks, Bernar. Don't worry, there's plenty more where that came from and the lightning has already started to hit for this evening... and guess who will be out playing with a camera?

Thanks, Rose. It depends on what you mean as to "how long". Technically, I shot for about 5 hours last night but it resulted in 110 captures of lightning out of 500 shots. But in essence, it took a 4 minute exposure to capture this.
Best wishes, Dave
