Oh, and AJ... there aren't any pumps... and I may be wrong what this used to be... it was a house at one point, converted to something in the old Rte 66 days... may have been a restaurant actually. I'll have to ask the locals.

Hahaha, AJ... thanks, your math looks correct but, it was only these last few shots of the night that I was able to get out of the truck and put the camera on the tripod for a long exposure. The bulk of the shots were about 2 seconds while trying very hard to hold the camera steady inside the truck with rain pouring in the window.
Best wishes, Dave

Thanks, Martin... and the best part would be to see the oil companies go out of business... wouldn't it be nice to see those rats having to work at McDonald's?

Thank you, John... I was a bit nervous on this one because I was actually outside and standing under power lines... the building got lit by way of the lightning behind me...
That metal thing is the old sign for the business.

Excelente amigo; esta serie de noches con esos relámopagos y esos colores le dan un toque mágico, misterioso y hasta terrorífico; además un gran encuadre. Bravo!7/7.M.

2300 photos at 2.5 minutes each equals, er, 95.8 hours. My, that was a LONG night! Hey, but it was worth it. There is a fabulous network of bolts here. Yes, would be wonderful to have the outline of darkened pumps on the forecourt, but this is dramatically striking (groan) anyway.

Very cool photo Dave! Interesting story with it too, wouldn't it be nice someday to see all gas-stations abandoned as we have better environmentally friendly energy solutions and no longer need gas. But I digress.
Thanks for sharing, I love these types of images, awesome!

Amazing capture and you get also greatly the buidling AND the silhouettes of the tree and that metalic thing that makes your image even more interesting, excellent image Dave, and the great element is that a soft light under that long time of exposure support the buidling and viewed some details, an excellent night shot with a very fancy sky under that thunder-net!!! Best regards!
