I really like this shot James. The unusual composition where the subject is the hat rather than the wearer, and the space in the left of the image work very well. the black and white is an excellent choice, and the background blur allows the viewer to be drawn to the main subject. My only (very slight) criticism would be that although the strong contrast works extremely well, part of the hat looks slightly over exposed, and rather than seeing the detail, that part of the image is pure white. Of course this is an entirely subjective issue, and I'm sure that others will feel that this contributes to the image rather than detracts from it!
Overall, a superb and original capture. Nice work :)
