Hej Brigitte
Not to worry.... I thought the same thing. These particular elephants are temple elephants though. So i think MAYBE their lives is reasonably better than working elephants. Keeping in mind they are not free. Still, I like to register with mu photography, to show daily life in odd places and it is up to the viewer to form their opinion. I hope I can show some of the more ugly things in a way that people actually take notice of what is going on ... (do you know Jacob Holdt, you can find his web) I think on surface beautiful pictures can be more reveiling once you take another look. (Still have to practise myself though:))

Hey, Trine... I wanted to say that I may have come across kind of harsh with my comments. I just want to say that your photos have great impact and stir the emotions so that is what photography is about... not just the technical aspect. Best regards, Brigitte

Like the other photo you posted before this one.... it's a good photograph showing the difference between the large elephant foot and small human foot, but very sad to see such a gentle and intelligent creature in chains. :( Regards, Brigitte
