About	These are my first new images processed from raw files from my new Canon EOS 40D camera. Used the DPP program that came with the camera. Used the 28-135mm lens with zoom for these macros. I do not have a macro lens. Sharpness was not as high as I would have liked. This might be more the lens than camera. DOF was pretty good and the color and noise levels were very good I thought. Any help in DPP processsing would be nice.

This is my 1st shots with a DSLR, I'm used to a P&S macro preset. The DPP sharpened things up a bit but seemed limited to the very front the flower. I would liked to have a slightly deeper DOF. I think it was shot in P mode. You are saying that if I shot in AP I could control the DOF better? The lens was a IS model and was on.

Hi Robert - lovely colour here - I dont think the sharpness has anything to do with the lens, I rather think you picked up a very slight motion blur while a smaller aperture would also render more of the flower petals in sharper detail. Kind regards.
