Funny shot in Macro category, I like the narrow DOF here, focusing well done, sharpness is good here.
PS: seem your shot be winner in Minimal DOF, but is winner in fall color!!! Anyway, congrats for Award, it's deserving award.

Best wishes: Waiting forever

A productive day ending with an award!I actually set off early this morning with the intention of finding these seed pods and safron flowers, luckily we found both after a 3 hour search. This particular pod was just a 3 minute walk from my friend Juan's car!
The Sigma 105mm macro lense, which I've had for about 5 years now, does an excellent job.it goes from 32 to 2.8 and this was shot at 3.2 .I shot almost wide open to lose a rather contrasty background and then reduced it a little more in Hue-Sat.Hope that helps
Have a good week, Tony

An excellent close-up and a creative shot. You've got the title spot on.

Incidentally, I'm interested in this Sigma lens. Are you happy with it? What aperture did you use here? (The reason I ask about the aperture is I assume that this was in macro mode and I would be interested to get an idea how much the DOF could be increased - not because I think you needed to but just for my own understanding of what the lens is capable.)

Nice macro. Good use of DoF.
I think there were some aliens like this who used to visit the place where we vacationed when I was a child. A.Lien
