Very "live" considering coloring and light, Dave! Especially the black background seems to be ideal for focusing on the ladybug and its vibrant red. Perhaps the DoF should include the whole animalm though. I assume it was moving?

Neat shot! The shiny spot doesn't bother me, on the contrary! I can imagine this being a reflection of the sun (or moon)

Hi Andre, thanks for the comment and the tip! It is a simple way of lessening the effect, and seems to work better than the program's (PSP) cure for that problem. Dave.

Hi Dave, As Fred says, it seems your having a lot of fun with that macro lens. I love the composition of this one. It is too bad about the bright highlights on the head though. Also one other thing. The turquoise edges on the leaf and legs are very easy to get rid of, if you want to. The Fuji S5000 seems prone to that fault. There is a name for it but I can't think what the technical term is right now. Anyway, if you want to get rid of the turquoise, you can do it in PS by opening the desaturation tool and selectively deselect Cyan only. I bet the whold image will appear much more natural. Quite often with birds in trees, the branches will come out with a magenta tinge on the edges. In this case, selectively desaturate magenta only. It can made the world of a difference. I came across this tip on a photo website and I'm glad I did. Andre

Dave: Sorry to take so long. I love this little bug. I see you're having fun with the macro attachments. I may have to get a macro lens someday. I used to have them always. If I had one I'm not sure I could do this well.

Very good close-up image dear Dave, may be little bright on the bug's head yet still a very good image with wonderful red and green tones. Regards, Khaled.
