Well your shots are grainy because your using high ISO, Higher ISO speed = More grainy shots + More contrast + Higher shutter speed. If you want to keep your shots grain-less you'd better keep your shutter speed below 400 and start lowering the aperture if you need higher shutter speed. although you should note that lower aperture = Lower Depth of field so there should always be a balance if you want grainless shots with a high DOF. a aperture of 5.6 - 8.0 with a iso speed of 100-200 usually produce very good photos. although the DOF also depends on the focal length of your lens so the higher the focal length, the lower the DOF while using the same aperture. Good luck with and keep up the great work. My best, aLi
Ugh....I'm having issues figuring out why a lot of my shots are so grainy. I'm still pretty new to photography so I'm learning as i go. Haven't really played with the apeture yet so I've been cheating with the ISO speed.
Nice shot David, I really like the composition here, and your style of holding the camera LOL ! The Depth of field is pretty good too, I think your lens couldn't manage any lower DOF anyway, I just wish the shot wasn't this grainy ! It looks as if it was sunny, So why did you use such a high ISO? Anyways, it's a good shot. very well done. 6/7 My best, aLi
