About One of my dogs, Neko, will pose for any shot I want to take. He's such a happy, friendly dog, I thought I would help show his "agressive" side. As well, I had just gotten my macro lenses from Ebay, and I had to try them out. Working with the DOF will be tricky, though.

I love this macro - you could put this on your "beware of dog" sign. You must have a very cooperative canine to snap this one. My little 12 pound pooch has a funny little overbite which would not look quite so ferocious.

Thanks for your comments, and thank you Dave, for reminding me to try to use faster film when doing things like this. I don't think a longer shutter would work though, since my dog probably couldn't keep perfectly still.

Kim,

Nice shot. Extremely cool, nice framing, good angle.
For the macro work, to get the max DOF, I'm sure you're well aware that you're going to have to stop way down on the lens (f22 or f32 if it's on the lens). Of course you're going to have to deal with longer shutter speeds unless you use faster film.

Cheers,
Dave

Quite unexpected and well done. Love it.

Great image - very creative. First glance it's quite eerie and frightening ... but on some level it's also rather pretty. Love the shallow depth of field.
