it's very nice, you have a portrait on really interesting lighting conditions, with the net shadow in the face, and the high contrast gives even more artistic result, great image...and somehow a fealling of ...prison, of the end of freedom, that is a high impact image about the emotions that 'brings' to the watcher, very importante that for me, and of course excellent!

The lighting is so wonderful Gustavo, I like the starkness, the contrasting black and white. The shot is superb as is all of your portfolio. Your photographs are so artistic and compel me to think about each one i see. In this one i keep thinking about being caged with sadness.

Usted es muy agradable, Gust@vo. No puedo más que estar satisfecho de que usted lo encontró en Aceptar.
Muy de vez en añadir un texto a mis imágenes, como una asociación a la poesía, la música, etc, ya que más bien esperar y ver si alguien más tiene este tipo de asociaciones con una foto, y puesto que mis intenciones son la mayoría de las veces más profan.

The image is extremely well done in all its dark shadows - shades of darkness. I find its expressive power quite amazing, as it allows a personless face to be clearly perceived behind all those bars - to seem almost able to reach the spectator in a rather threatening way, though it also seems to be caged, inprisoned, unable to move. I immediately think of the lyrics of "The enemy within" by Rush, but this enemy is within.. what? Perhaps the threatening atmosphere is generated because the enemy is within me - and hence it doesn't need to move in order to reach me since it is already there? Always present?
Technically the darkening of the image (as compared to the original) brought a strenthening of the contrasts. The image in now much "harder", which of course matches that kind of threatenling look.
Without wanting to say that this one is not good, I would also suggest another possibility to change the original image in the direction of giving the face a perhaps more visible personality - turning it to "somebody" out of "nobody". Just a small addition and it looks again so different.

A strong image - the use of the screen in the foreground adds not only visual interest, but an emotional impact to the picture as well. The high contrast of the image adds to the impact as well. Great shot!

Gracias de verdad mi querido amigo, opté en este caso por alterar tanto la imagen, porque este tema de las máscaras lo traté ya con varias fotos que publiqué anteriormente, y tengo esa obsesión (por ahí equivocada o excesiva) de no reiterarme mucho....en fin de todas formas me encanta que te guste.

me gusta el trabajo en PS Gustavo, pero la foto original ya me parecía soberbia; lo interesante del retrato es la contraposición de la delicadez de la cara con la jaula/red donde está aprisionada, eso lo hace tan impactante y dramática; al forzar el contraste, cara y red parecen ensambladas y da más la idea de una imagen de sadomasoquismo (que también me gusta), pero con menos fuerza que la original, así es como yo lo veo

Ja..ja...ok...ok...aunque no lo creas tiene varias cosas:
1) Copiar la foto sobre una capa transparente sobre un fondo blanco.
2) Imagen, ajustes, umbral, para el blanco y negro hasta encontrar un punto justo.
3) Selección y recorte de los píxeles blancos (excepto los ojos)
4) Biseles y una leve sombra de fusión para darle un poco de profundidad a los bordes internos
5) Luego pintar los ojos con un gris más claro.
y bueno, a mi me gustó!...:-(
