About Travelling for such a long time everyday and passing by so many towns and villages, I realized that I knew absolutely nothing about all those places. How do people live there, what they do, what is the atmosphere of the places - I only had vague impressions of those places. I extrapolated this to the situation of some "big manager" travelling half the world and having the opinion he/she would have seen so much.. And in reality the only thing seen is some airport, some very partial view of a place, perhaps some restaurant or something like that. Having travelled through half the nation (or in the case of the "big manager" through half the world) and at the same time having no real idea of what's going on at those places, I found that rather inconsistent, unsatisfying, really "half". That was the idea behind this photo - a more or less well known sum of shapes at some place, and still no real knowledge whatsoever of what is going on there.

I'd be very glad for any comments.

Thank you very much for the nice detailed comment and the different view, Fabio, which makes me re-think about the image. It is always good to read what other people see in some given photo, since this enriches the own mind.

I try to imagine how I would interpret the image without knowing anything about the intention of the photographer.

Many many thanks and best wishes!

Nick

but for me it's not so much the feling of lost loneliness (passing through so many towns without really knowing anybody or anything about:))... but of coming home (s. sun and the shape of the railway buildings:))
