On a purely abstract level, this is skillfull in its compositional balance. On a subjective level--saw blade against wood, "cutting" it with shadow--it is subtlely whimsical. Genius.

This is a nice image. I do think the impact would be greater if the image wasn't so overexposed. The wood grain seems to be lost and the detail in the blade would pop out more if it were toned down a little. The composition is right on and everything else is very fixable. Just an opinion.

Great abstract, Harlan! Very nice combination of textures and colors (rust and sun-bleached wood always look cool together!) I think I might have given the nail heads just a little more room, but otherwise it's really nicely balanced. Good work!
