About As the time was passing by during my "life on the run" period, I realized that I was falling more and more into the wish to just get lost and never appear again. Especially when crossing the bridge over the river Limmat in Zurich, I thought that not to be must be better than to be under such inhuman conditions. And thus again the image on the try to convey some of the wish for being lost to the distance.

Perhaps I get too kitschy here, so any "awakening" comments would be very welcome.

It happens again and again, Andre. I think especially when the water's surface has prominently curved parts with reflections on its surface.

Going to your image now!

It was less pleasant to me, Vandi, but still it is extremely interesting to read how you and other people receive the image! So I get new views and ways to perceive my own photos for myself, which always puts me into questioning my own views. And which in turn enriches my own mind.

Thanks a lot and best wishes.

Hi Nick,
I remember getting a similar result (impressions of water tension) somewhat by accident when taking images of lily pads a couple of years ago.
Check this one out.

What an extraordinary observation, Andre! Really, I was thinking about what the heck looks so special on that water, and now you directed my thoughts to the right point! Yes, surface tension, that special phenomenon that allows insects to walk on water and also allows needles to stay on the surface without sinking, despite the fact that they are denser than water! Thanks a lot for reminding me of that!

And imagine that my work for my diploma had to do with exactly this! Surface tension! I think I get too old with time - alzheimer, you see! ;-)

All the best,

Nick

Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, Dave! I was rather keeping my attention the perspective but I see now that the reflection do add character to image. Which makes me ask myself if shooting this a bit earlier could preserve the perspective but enhance the reflections.

All the best,

Nick

Hi Nick,
I like the look of the water surface on this one. It gives the impression of having a physical tension that you could walk across. If you know what I mean?

I can see how a view like this would entice anyone into wishing for a different life, Nick! You've chosen and captured the scene very well, especially the reflections of the lights on the water.
Dave.
