About Thanks for all the comments on Myth. I took Myth just before sunset with intense yellow backlighting. Like Mr. Ch below, it reminded me of a fairy tale, unicorn illustration. After being low rated by several people without comment, I was given several suggestions mostly in composition. I posted briefly a Myth 2 cropping most of the backlight out, and by editing, increasing the reflection. To me, though imperfect, the original had more impact. So, for now, I removed the higher rated edited version, and left this a much less edited version of what I saw and felt at the time. I do appreciate all feedback.

Thank you for this comparison, im glad perhaps it brought it to mind. The scene certainly brought thoughts of Tolkein, Pegasus and such at the time.Thank you again.

A logan in Elf Realm.. Asfaloth (horse of Arwen) drinking water.. (From The Fellowship of The Ring)

Asfaloth was a milk white horse, whose pace was as smooth and swift as Pegasus, with heels that caught the light of the Sun.

Alan,

I don't care what low rated feedbacks were left for you. I wouldn't pay any attention to them. I can't belive ANYONE would leave you low ratings. All of your stuff is great. People want to read into it what they think it should be like. That's the problem...eveybody's a critic. They're just jealous because they don't have the talent you do. Go ahead...put your "WORST" stuff up on the web...I'll vote it a "10".

Regards!

This is really nice. I would like to see more space at bottom and less at top and to the left but the lighting and subject are super. Sometimes it happens that way. I still like it.

I like the composition of this and the beautiful colours, the horse is nicely placed and the reflection adds to the charm, exceptional work, very well done - Richard.

Alan, I can see your point. I would not want to lose anymore off the top of the trees. That would ruin it for sure. Good work!

Very beautiful composition and fantastic backligh. The effect os the light delineating the form of the horse is fantastic. I'd only like to see a little more of the the reflex of the horse, but remais a fantastic shot. REgards!

Nice one. I agree about the reflection, and I think the horse should be further left in the frame (but it's not all that important in this particular case). The trees might be just a bit too bright and maybe could stand some selective darkening - but just the trees. An alternative would be a grad ND filter at the time of shooting - Bob T.

No derek, not windy. But the light was very strong yellow, through those trees, even blurring detail to my eyes. Also this was zoomed pretty much to max, so the combination of compression and the light?
Dont know. I see plenty of detail, so I guess you mean that upper left in particular, and that is just extreme light, and I do mean extreme. Thanks.

Lovely photo, love the lighting and the reflections (of which you already commented on the cut off reflection), but my biggest nit is the lack of detail in the trees - windy?

Christel, yes, but i took several shots, handheld at the end of the day with that intense last sunlight. I did do a couple with the whole reflection, but this either backed me up further from the scene, or moved the horse to dead center with the loss of the trees on top, so this was the compromise. Thanks.
