I can only say that it works this way, Ian. Much like a vague remembrance of something, where the real place and all its physical appearance aren't as important as the atmosphere is. And here I must say that it does make the atmosphere visible, going the opposite way of abstraction This image does not abstract from something - it materializes something that is abstract by itself! I think that the colors, the limited light and the vague impression do most of the work here.
