About This is the old, abandoned Lux Theater on Route 66 in downtown Grants, New Mexico.

This was from one of my light painting ventures in August. Though the street light on this block was burned out at the time, there was still too much ambient lighting to accomplish a full-blown colorization of the features. So I ended up with a series of partially colored exposures.

I decided to see what HDR software would do with this series. I combined 5 photos containing the partial light paintings into one single image using HDR software. Mind you, none of the signs, etc. were lit on this building. Here is the result.

The lighting technique included both colored gel flashes, colored flashlights and a lantern placed in the doorway area to light it up.

Thanks, Bernardo, I have a bad habit of keeping even the total garbage shots... That's how I managed to end up with 7 hard drives of photos....

Thanks, John... I was very limited as to where to set up my tripod, even though it was about 1AM, I couldn't be out in the street because of the occasional drunk driver. As it was, I was standing in the parking lane. And of course, my wide angle lens really helps this distortion.

Another cool picture Dave. I'll have to check out that HDR software.
