Oh well, yes Andre! We change from day to day, and so hopefully to the better ;-)

But indeed at that time the word "tripod" was not existing in my vocabulary, though it appeared in very very bold letters later on.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick,
The focus may be a little on the soft side, as you say, but the composition makes up for it.
As we said earlier, if you were to do this again today, you would have taken many shots, possibly with a tripod and with different settings.

Oh yes, I find it much better than many others of the same series too, Andre! Only the focus I find a bit weak. This was one of the images I was happy to shoot using my treasured 100mm macro lens, before it was stolen. (Sniff! :´-() It was excellent for real close focus starting at just some cm in front of the lens.

Somehow standing away from the subject and zooming in seems to be different than standing really close to the subject.

Thanks a lot!

Hi again Nick,
To me, this one is one of the positive exceptions to the last comment I gave. The flower takes up much more of the frame and is also slightly off centre to make a much more flattering composition. This one works well compared to a few of the others that are central and smaller in the frame.

Hermosa, muy logrado el uso de la luz aprobechándo las transparencias de los pétalos, sin dudas una flor muy powerfull...:-)

Un abrazo!

Many many thanks agaon, Dave. It indeed gave the light a very soft appearance as it went through the petals. Still I have the feeling tht I got it too soft.

Cheers,

Nick

I like the way you have the light shining through the petals in this one, Nick!
