Yes, John, this was taken from my window seat, and as you know, it's questionable whether you get a useable window. This time I did. We were gaining altitude out of Seattle just as the sun was rising. It was such a beautiful sight!
Oh, one thing I've learned in sneaking shots from aircraft is that you almost always have to boost contrast, as the two panes of plexiglass you shoot through, even when clear, flatten contrast considerably.
Thanks for your comment.

This is wonderful, Paul. The subtle colors and lines are beautiful. I like to do the same thing from airplane windows. It gives you such a feeling of awe when you are up above such beauty.

*LOL* I know exactly what you mean:-) Before planning a trip it´s such a treat looking at an area in advance. I´ve been looking a lot at the coastline in Washington lately and also in Oregon, also checking out glaciers and towns in Alaska etc. It´s amazing being able to see even cars. In that way one gets a good idea of how a place will look like when arriving:-) Also seing the remote areas in Siberia and Kasczakhstan etc is just thrilling!

I LOVE Google Earth! It's always exciting when I'm arriving for the first time to a city by jet, and I can already recognize what I'm seeing beneath me.

These are the Cascade mountains just east of Seattle. The peak in the distance in Glacier Peak.
