About Apparently a male elk lodged his antlers between the tree trunk and a good size branch. Even when the animal died, the horns and the skull remained stuck. Over the years, the tree grew around the hornes and encased them within the tree wood. The animals skull can be seen on the other side of the trunk. They are on display the the nature musium at Prairie Creek cap Grounds.
