Ah, thanks Nick!
I had an INCREDIBLE session Sunday morning, and I'll be posting many of those images this week.

I also think that it's the best to just win the trust of the model and go for exactly that kind of honesty, without any unuatural poses and silly expressions that fail to be of any photogenic character.

From my experiences of our many too many self-shooters here and also from some sessions at weddings, I have the impression that most people would just try to "enhance" themselves for the image, and at the end it only looks terrible. I remember last summer during a wedding, where I was shooting, and it was exactly like you said. The majority of the good images was exactly those where the people didn't even know that they are to be captured, and with those of them with whom I had the opportunity to talk a bit. Especially the bride wanted to play the theater diva and she only was completelly awful on the photos. Only after some small talk it got a bit better with her, but not really much.

And of course you can feel as happy and honored as it takes a long and hard work when it comes to images of people/faces, which you seem to have mastered very well. As my girlfriend said, sometimes she couldn't really believe that it was herself on the image when she was working as a model.

I can only await your next images! Impatiently!

Well, thanks, Nick! My fundamental notion about photographing people is that to get them to be honest in front of the camera, they must know there is nothing to fear. I work hard to gain the trust and confidence of my models, and let them know that any silly shots they don't like or 'wardrobe malfunctions' will be deleted. I also spend time talking WITH them during the shoot as complete characters and humans, not just as flexible props in front of my lens.

Keep in mind a typical 2-hour session usually yields 250 photos. As another photographer once remarked about digital photography, "It's like duck hunting with an AK-47. If you don't get anything, something's wrong with you."

I just feel honored to have an incredible queue of beautiful, talented models waiting to shoot with me. It's a treat when I create images far beyond their modest expectations.

And this is what I always find remarkable on your fashion shots, Paul! The models pose, yes, they do! But they remain natural in looking, not like some kind of second hand VIP. I was commenting Gustavo's image ( http://www.usefilm.com/image/1401552.html ) some minutes ago, and here is the solution to his problem! Your shots of posing models never get silly, never get "artificial", which I guess is something that can be attributed to their professionality, and also yours!

I can only hope that as amny as possible people will take time to examine carefully your fashion images, as it goes far far ahead of simple fashion and clothe!
