Good clear image Jim. I also like the limb crossing the image at an angle. Gives the image more visual impact. About you comment on my Great Blue Heron with the tree toed salamander. I was set up on a levee that surrounds this man made lake. I was using a light weight tripod, Vivitar Pro-300. I can shoot my 300mm with 1.4x teleconverter with good results but only if the legs are retracted all the way in.

wish there were more details in the darker feathers towards the middle to bottom but at that distance and using natural light I can see the problem.

well composed and well framed, good detail and color in the eagle...the stark background is my only nit...I think that could be greatly reduced with the addition of a simple darker frame/border for presentation

beautiful capture of a beautiful Bird!! The whites on the head are absolutly perfect, however, on my monitor the black back was lost some ofthe feather details.
