About	I think the white cone is a little blown out, but it was a very white hot flame! Lens was just an inexpensive 35-80 Kit lens. I was stuck using Kodak HD 400. Scanned from a neg. on a Dual Scan IV. PS to adjust brightness/contrast and to crop just a little.

Thanks Doyle,

I may have lost some of the detail around the white hot spot when I scanned the negative. But the center was still white. I can't remember if it was like that in person.

True enough about the white Rusty . . . but what can you do, eh? I like the overall composition of the shot and can appreciate the difficulty of exposure due to the rang in lighting . . . but it looks like you pulled it off pretty good. The depth is great and . . . ummmm . . . since this IS a CC image the only thought that comes to mind is that the white hot accent is dead center which would not have been my first choice. I DO like the verticals and horizontals in the image, particulary with that not quite horizontal line from his hand to the flame . . . a great mix. All in all, I think a pretty gosh darn good shot. :)
