Dear Jen, I came across one of your older shots from your travel through Ethiopia. A nicely balanced composition of animals and people with an original perspective. You are gifted to see and capture this instant in your way and having the luck so often to be at the right place and time to experience, transferring a message of humor or uniqueness. You experience the contrasts as made visible and as invisible like joy and sadness. It is humor not related to fun as well as to insight by your gift of having an original angle of view. I love to learn from you, how you are finding that balance between all those experienced contrasts.

Good Morning Jen, Easter island belongs to Chile but it's 4000 km away from the continent; the most isolated place in the world surrounding by water, another 3000 km to Tahiti. There you can see the magnificient Moais (giant statues) I've already uploaded some pictures (http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1368844) I've not been to Jordania, well just a short stop, but it's in my mind nice week-end Jen txules

Good morning Jesus, sounds different, but will treat you as a saint now;) I know this reply must be hard, as English isnt our first language, I am amazed they all speak it so well here! There was also a lot of difference being a woman on my way, in some countries they didnt even want to talk to me..loll Countries like Syrie, Jordan, Egypt etc you need a man:)) Did you ever go to Jordan? You really should, there is so much culture and history over there! Where is easter island, is that Paasisland?? Nice to talk to you, txs! xxJen

very difficult reply Jen, as a continent I prefer Africa, for human contact i prefer latin america (i can speak with them in Spanish, my english is poor); choose a single cpuntry very difficult; now at my 47 yo I'm' changing my kind of travelling; this year i got to easter island for one month to do nothing just to stay there; amazing place if you are not in a hurry as many tourist that spend just a couple of days; I've not been to Sudan, you are a bravery woman take care....txules (is a nickname that means Jesus, sometimes i sing also as JD, Jesus Daniel)

To be honest I liked Sudan better..as you can see on my profile I drove from Holland to Capetown, by car, how did you get through Ethiopia? Yes, I have more shots, but dont know if the're good enough....had my first digi as well;) Had some hard times in Ethiopia, as we never could sleep in the car just in the outback, never could just stop without looking around and trying to keep our stuff together...loll But it might have been easier with some more company... I travel around in Africa from I was 21...thts a long time in my case;)) Tell me what is your number 1 country? And you're right, i think I prefer animals and nature...sleep well, Jenxx

I've been there in 2003 Jen and liked everything, the tribal people of the south and west, the fantastic ambience of Lalibela, the gorgeous mountains of the Siemens, well after travelling around the world more than 25 yeras this is one my top 5 countries you can find some pictures of that trip in my very first postings in usefilm; unfortunately my digital camera at that time was very simple, so I'm anxious to see your pictures btw I see you got to namibia too, another fascinating country but more for narure than people (but Himbas) be well....txules

I know its a tough subject I think dear John, even for myself...it was a tough journey as well, no roads most of the time, getting lost for miles and miles, even with GPS it was hard on way points! I'd like to share them with you all, but maybe its a bit to heavy...?? Point was, there wasn't much else to take pics from, those countries were not very jolly, away from some nice people I met, but mostly you had to be very carefully, if you stopped just hundreds of people around you, quite scary, specially on my age...not able to run away fast enough..loll Thanks a lot for taking time looking at them, hugs Jenxx

Thanks my dear. After all, its more like a dramatic shot Keith, I almost regret to have put it on..:( As I looked back at it I saw this man at the right side dregging this goat by its leg!!!! I was forgotten about it, thats what I saw many times on the way, as they didnt have a rope...it was making me sick to see this! And all because of celebrating Easter, eating meat for 3 days, that makes them sick because they are not used to that....well this seems more like a lecture after all;)) I won't tell you how the streets looked like the next days after.........;( Hugs Jenxx

Wow, you have a lot of amazing shots taken during that adventurous trip you did. Incredible opportunity here with the slope of the road and having it for a background.. very good you were able to see something interesting while you were at this road. I know you want to show the environment but perhaps a crop in the right portion will enhance the composition. just my opinion.. wonderful capture Jen.. regards..

Great you replied on this one Txules, when have you been there? Happy to meet someone who has been there too, as it hard to explain how life is over there....:) As you might remember this was a very quiet street comparing to most of them! Very kind dear friend, if you look clear at this shot there is a lot going on, like here, just before easter they all get their animals and eat them, as easter is a big event for eating meat and celebrate for 3 days, which they dont do often for the rest of the year...I was just there at the wrong time...:) Big hug, Jen
