Well, Andre, you know how it goes in such cases. As the very "sticher" of such a scene you just know about the "breaks" and so your eye will always automatically turn there, and say "there is a problem on the wave, correct that, correct that!".
The rest of the stich was much work to do, but not really hard. It was much to do but also easy, since I had the luck of a quite matching lighting on the two frames. To stich the buildings under such a uniform light was OK. But that wave! :-D
I can only be glad of that doesn't "weigh" that much compared to the general impression. Perhaps also it important here that many times such breaks of waves occur quite naturally?

not at all Nick,
there's no city, as far as i remember, that i have visited and did not have a river, no matter how small it was. So, I say, a river in the city is an imperative. taht's why Prishtina is such a messed up city; once it had two small and beautiful rivers (which i have never seen) but they covered them, and built roads over them-- the reason was simple, the citizens were not decent enough to take care of them and keep them clean but instead they put all the rubbish in it.
Look at most cities, they are mainly full of concrete walls, iron bars, high buildings that suck up the sky, and everything is so rigid- a river which passes smoothely through, with a nice noise of flow, not that it only cleans the air but also gives a spirit to the roughness of city- some sort of contrast, some form of life,
i pointed that out as i was grown in a small town where i spent most of my time by the river, and where i live now-- i have to travel some 10 km at least to get to an artificial lake. pitty.

Hi Nick,
My eye did go to that break in the waves. I thought that might have been where the stich was. I still say it looks very fine, and I would never have questioned why there was a break in the wave. I still can't detect any evidence of two images being stiched together, even when I know where it is.

I was indeed a load of work again. Since I couldn't get any satisfactory results by any "automatic" processes I has to do that by hand. I really thought, better to work on it a little bit day after day than going for "quick and dirty". I attach an image with a certical line that shows where the stich was. You see that the wave is broken at that point. Well, the first take was the right side, then I had to compensate exposure for the left frame, and that took exactly as long as the wave needed to travel a bit further. The thing is here that I didn't find a way to somehow "join" both ends of the wave in a good way. So instead of doing something bad, I just left it as it was. Perhaps not the best possible thing to do, but if the rest is OK... Much like leaving out too fast complicated notes from a solo when I am mot able to play it! ;-)
About panorama images, well, I only know that they "should fulfill the size considerations of panoramic", whatever that might mean. I didn't find any other info here, so I just proceed with what I know about such "size considerations".
1) First of all the ratio of the images dimensions must exceed some certain number. That is, the ratio width/height must be larger than on "ordinary" formats. On this one it is 1655/651=2.54 , well above the usual ratio of 1.5 .
2) Of course the same holds if the ratio of height/width exceeds some certain number - 1.5 again? That is, the panorame may of course be also vertical.
3) The category (not project!) "Panoramic" *must* (of course) be chosen at least once. (The other two may be empty or other categories.) Otherwise the server has of course no way to say if I wanted to upload a panorama or simply an image with a "normal" overall size but different ratio of dimensions.
4) Perhaps also there are limitations considering the minimum width (for horizontal) or the minimum height (for vertical) panoramics. That is, perhaps the width of a horizontal panoramic must exceed some certain number of pixels. I don't know if this holds, since I only uploaded panoramics of over 1500 pixels of width. I don't know if, say, some image of 1200x450 pixels would be accepted as panoramic, if somebody would chooses the category at least once.

This looks great in the panarama view Nick. I'm still trying to figure out where you stiched them together. So, I guess you did it quite well. You may no for sure because you spent the time on doing it. But, most of us would not be aware of a stich if we were not told it existed.
I'm glad to see that you took advantage of the Panorama view properly. I notice a lot of people seem to have trouble posting a Panorama. Quite often I click on the pano view and it comes up the same size. My guess is they haven't followed the instructions properly. ?

Indeed it seems that the greatest cities ever all have their river - or any version of "big water". And I didn't even think of that until you told me. Really, is there any great city without its "big water"? Could that be a "rule"?
Florence is indeed a city for living. Is is more than any description I could give. That smell in the air, the attitude, the character... aaaarrrrrg, I'm getting insane for such cities! Much like my sweet Lucerne, my Barcelona, my London, my Hamburg, or my sweet home Kavala!
OK, OK, I'm getting down again! ;-) This could be indeed the best cover image for the series. The series itself isn't finished yet, which implies some more visits to Florence, ey? Nut this could be really good for sch a cover.

Hey Nick,
a very well captured panoramic view of Florence and its river. despite the gloomy day, and clouds over the city, the vibrant colours of the buildings around and a nice river (which i find a 'must have' for a city) have complemented your idea of portraying Florence as a city to live.
i would put this shot as the cover of the serie!
