Thanks, Pat! In fact it was 2 stops under-exposed as I was not quick enough to reset my camera. Thant means this shot (ISO 800) is actually at ISO 3200 equivalent after bringing it back up in the editor! The D300 is pretty good! Eb

Great shot. Your exposure is right on. When shoot into a clear sky, I have found that the subject is usually under exposed. Nice work.

Very nicely done wildlife shot, Eb! It really adds something to show the material in his beak. I like your composition here, too. Dave.

Not really, Raihan, the D300 is good! This shot was taken quickly and I had no time to dial in exposure compensation, therefore, metering against the bright sky created strong under-exposure of the bird - at least 2 stops. I increased "exposure" of the raw file by 2 stops and that is why you see noise. With my D200, I doubt that I would have found this image useable! Eb

Nice capture ... but I am disappointed to see so much noise at ISO800 from a D300!

Yes, Eric, I did add the graduated blue sky. For aerial shots, the sky is often blown out. To do it again, I would cut back on the opacity a bit more than I have! Thanks for your comment! Eb

Nice shot. Sky seems odd, did you have to fabricate it?
