I find the rather mechanical, emotion-free, and end-time attitude of the robotic approch of Kraftwerk a very fruitful concept. It makes clear that intelligence can be artificially made on such a high degree that one can no more distinguish it from "biological evolution" of intelligence. It doesn't matter if the consciousness is aware of its own existence on the basis of carbon or on the basis of silicon. So, the "hardware" is unimportant as it is only the *carrier* of consciousness but not the consciousness itself.
I also always found the sequences of Kraftwerk very interesting. Each sequence is a small easy musical part. But the result is very interesting in its own atmosphere. Much like how african rhythms are produced. And also their lyrics were much stronger in German. For example they don't say: "I am the *operator* of my pocket calculator". They say: "Ich bin der *Musikant* mit Taschenrechner in der hand", which translated means "I am the musician with a calculator in his hand". Which of course is much stronger, since it shows that *electronic" music *is* possible.

Me sigue sorprendiendo tu conocimiento sobre la música moderna. Los electrónicos alemanes hicieron una interesante escuela, yo era más de "Tangerine dream", "Moebius & Roedelius", "Klus Schulze", de "Kraftwerk" sin dudas el más memorable es "The man-mchine", aunque también "Autoban"...:-), si me encanta también...ja...ja...
Tambien recuerdo con mucho gusto a los ingleses "Gary Numan & Tubeway Army"...:-)

You converted the face (especially the hair) to that kind of plastic look that bands like Kraftwerk had, as a glimse of the future... the robot.. the inability to do something that wasn't programmed before. Should this have been your intention, then a more straight, emoty look would fit better. But still the "plastic feel" is strong.

Hola Luis!
Las texturas, colores y contrastes son un intento por tapar los defectos de enfoque de la foto que por lo demás me gustó (mmm, también me salió un poco movida), la ley de Murphy!, ja...ja....Sin dudas he extremado los contrastes, oscurecí en forma plana y eso mata las sombras, en fin, son decisiones muy criticables, lo sé...:-), pero la mirada me gusta y por eso hice el intento.
En cuanto al encuadre, yo siempre tiendo a acercarme a los rostros, es una tendencia mía natural cuando saco un retrato, y en eso reconozco que me desvío un poco, o bastante, del encuadre clásico de los retratos, siempre tomo varias fotos, y me acerco y me alejo, pero finalmente el que me gusta más es el que encuadra al rostro. "Closeup" sería el término correcto?
De la misma forma si bien reconozco también que las miradas a la cámara son las mejores, me gustan las mirada contemplativas y a la distancia, las encuentro trascendentes, que miran más allá, más adelante...en fin, este es mi gusto...por supuesto totalmente opinable, ja...ja...
Un gran abrazo, agradezco como siempre tu crítica honesta y constructiva, y por supuesto ella es Julia, mi modelito preferida!. Che, y espero que pronto tenga algún viaja a Buenos Aires así nos podemos tomar un café y conversar un rato!

Gustavo...mucho empaste en los negros...poco detalle, la cara es muy grande para ser un retrato puro y los ojos hacia la izquierda tan perdidos no me resultan de una estética depurada; las sombras en el cuello se ven con exceso de quemado (esa herramienta da una tonalidad lejana a la "sombra" ) y por ende las luces de los pómulos son muy duras....
Pero en tus trabajos lo "técnico" como lo veo es un detalle menor...

Gracias David!, te cuento algo: con demasiada frecuencia tengo mala suerte cuando retrato a Julia, la mejor foto siempre es la que me sale desenfocada o movida (Murphy y la P@@..&%$&... ja... ja...!!) así que el trabajo digital es a los fines de ocultar ese defecto.
Me guío por una frase de Brian Eno: "hacé de tu error una fuerza", así que trato de hacer que el defecto se transforme de alguna manera en una virtud, en la cualidad interesante..., no digo que sea fácil ni que lo haya logrado!!!...:-)
