No Joggie, you are right - the highlights ARE blown in those parts that you mentioned. And it was indeed taken under low light, so the movement of the hands is also evident. Thanks for these inputs, and your very encouraging words.
I would look up to you for tips and suggestions all along, you know that ! :)
Cheers !! Avi

Hi Avi I think your composition and timing for this shot was spot-on. The reflection in the mother's eyes really makes the image. If i could give critique i would say it is just slightly overexposed with highlights been blown and details lost on the mother and baby's hands, the mother's breast and her nose. This may be my screen though (I am working on a laptop) and if that's the case my apologies. It may also be easily adjusted in Photoshop. I suspect the light was fairly low judging by the narrow depth of field and the movement caught in the baby and the mother's hand. Under such circumstances I think you did very well. I must remark to your steady progress since that first time a made a comment on your work - Keep it up there! Regards. Joggie

Thanks gary. Yes, tenderness was the first thing that I liked about this composition. The soft focus helped (I was lucky with that, because I cannot claim it was intentional - it was how the available light guided me) along with the fantastic hand positions of the mother and the baby.
For me, it was the shot of that day (I spent around 6 hours in the zoo !)

I can't help you with any suggestions, Avi, I've hardly done any of this type of photography, but I know an emotionally strong image when I see one and this surely is it. I can't help thinking of the similarities to humans whan I see shots like this, not just the physical resemblance, but the tenderness too. A fine image. Regards, Gary

Dear Avi, It seems that I make these foolish comments all the time with thinking Sam was you son..loll And also far before that I told you I was confused by showing your wife as I always thought you were a woman...loll Why? Might be the name, Avi sounds for my like a sweet girls name..;)) But thats the Dutch version...after that I started blushing here....so, now you know the truth, nothing but the truth...phewww (*_")
So, maybe I need some constructive confidence, hoping I didnt insult you my dear:) And I think you'r much better than I am, so I wouldnt dare to say anything like that;)) Thanks for clearing this, it was on my mind all the time...thats me! Be well and enjoy your Sunday, xxJen

I admire wildlife and wildlife photography, though a complete novice at it myself. I have watched Nat Geo and Discovery Channels for hours. I want to do better in wildlife photography with more opportunities and attempts.
Any serious critique and suggestion will be immensely helpful.
